ReplyDeleteThis post is really very helpfull....THANK YOU!
ReplyDeletePlease post the strings.xml and option_menu.xml file to complete your above post...
No changes in strings and option_menu xml files..if u need any string value to be defined then add that string value in strings.xml

ReplyDeleteyour app is not working in android 4.0.4 but works in 2.3.3. good
ReplyDeletePlease give me zip file

ReplyDeleteTragically, I'm as of now creating immaculate Android ventures at the minute and hence the center of my work has moved to some degree. Be that as it may when I discover time, I will return to the Phonegap improvement, since it engages me a great deal. Anyhow your slip appears to be nothing to do with the Setup right.

This works. Communication worked between my HTC G2(Android 2.3.4) and Galaxy S3(4.3), through Secure and Insecure connections. (I then tested with changes to the UUID's just because and it worked)
ReplyDeleteHere is my option_menu and strings xmls (this doesn't allow tags, so I put it on pastebin)

ReplyDeletei cant run the app in my Galaxy S4 (Android 4.3).. when i tried, it shows a black screen, then popped out "Unfortunately, Bluetooth Chat has stopped" message. I tested on another phone with Xperia Neo Android 2.3.4, and it works.
ReplyDeleteAnyone knows why..?
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThis was a good tutorial.. thank you for this.. Could pls mail me the zip file for the source code to " suhela.mali@gmail.com "...
Remove the following lines in order to avoid crashing on android v3.0 +:
ReplyDeleteprivate TextView mTitle; - remove this text view and where ever you find errors, comment out those lines.
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE); - not required
getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE, R.layout.custom_title); - not required
You can create your own header view and put text views as child in them. This header acts as a top view in BluetoothChat main activity xml file. and provide the id's as title_left_text and title_right_text(whatever the id's are in the main xml file)
If you're going to a developer game you might wonder how they differ from other kind of programmer pastimes like Hackathons, Programming competitions, just having a beer, talking and so on.
ReplyDeleteMy definition (and as far I can tell I was the one calling these things 'developer games' in the first place) is this;
A developer game is a combination of a programming competition and a computer game, where the challenges focus on the practical and fun rather than on algorithmic obscurity.
There are some algorithmic challenges from time to time, sure, and they can be quite tricky too. But the core concept is to have a welcoming, inclusive, little bit crazy event which you can attend to have fun and maybe win some prizes, but it's totally up to you and your team.
hahahahahaha.........LOL

ReplyDeletei have created project with the above code and installed into two phones but i am unable to connect with other device and it is showing message as "Unable to connect device". pls some1 help me to know wat is the problem here??
ReplyDeleteThis application allows two Android devices to carry out two-way text chat over Bluetooth. It demonstrates all the fundamental Bluetooth API capabilites, such as:
ReplyDeleteScanning for other Bluetooth devices
Querying the local Bluetooth adapter for paired Bluetooth devices
Establishing RFCOMM channels/sockets
Connecting to a remote device
Transfering data over Bluetooth
The Android platform includes support for the Bluetooth network stack, which allows a device to wirelessly exchange data with other Bluetooth devices. The application framework provides access to the Bluetooth functionality through the Android Bluetooth APIs. These APIs let applications wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth devices, enabling point-to-point and multipoint wireless features.
ReplyDeleteGood job, thanks for all.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of code.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried looking at the code samples at QuickBlox SDK? They seem to be a simplier solution, yet having all the required functions.
I'd be glad to hear your opinion.
Inline functions
ReplyDeleteAbility to declare variables anywhere, instead of only after another declaration or at the start of a compound statement
New data types like long long int, optional extended integer types, explicit boolean data type and complex type to denote complex numbers
Array lengths can be variable
One-line comments beginning with // supported
Library functions like snprintf
New header files, such as stdbool.h and inttypes.h
Type-generic math functions (tgmath.h)
Improved support for IEEE floating point
Designated initializers
Compound literals
Support for variadic macros (macros of variable arity)
Can you please give me the code for WiFi chat.... I mean a device will connect to the wifi hotspot on another device and in that way there can be a chat between 2 devices.... bibhuduttadash.sbp@gmail.com
